Zenless Zone Zero
Zenless Zone Zero unfolds in New Eridu, a city that has survived due to its ability to regulate and exploit unstable anomalies known as Hollows. These zones appear unpredictably and contain resources that the city relies on for its economy and defense systems. The player acts as a Proxy, managing missions, coordinating teams of Agents and navigating requests from various factions. As assignments accumulate, the Proxy uncovers how different groups influence the city’s stability. The story moves through contracts that expose both cooperation and conflict among those who depend on the Hollow industry.
Combat Flow And Agent Interaction
Combat in Zenless Zone Zero is based on real-time action and fast transitions between Agents. Each Agent contributes specific attack chains, dodge timings and unique skills tied to their combat identity. Players switch between Agents to interrupt attacks, avoid damage and create openings for coordinated Chain Attacks. Enemy behaviors require close attention, as their patterns determine when to trigger defensive or offensive actions. Equipment upgrades, including weapons and drive discs, modify an Agent’s performance and help shape team structure.
Progression Framework And Key Systems
The game’s advancement relies on several core systems that interact with one another:
- Agent acquisition and leveling
- Weapon tuning and enhancement
- Drive disc collection for stat growth
- Hollow expeditions for upgrade materials
- Faction tasks and challenge missions
Together, these systems reinforce a loop where combat success leads to better resources, enabling stronger Agents and access to more difficult missions.
Exploration Style And Hollow Routes
New Eridu provides the starting point for every mission, offering terminals, shops and NPCs that introduce additional objectives. Entering a Hollow transitions the game into a route-based environment where players progress through nodes representing combat zones, puzzles or supply points. Each Hollow has its own internal structure that may require reruns to obtain materials or unlock branching paths. Environmental hazards and enemy group formations vary, encouraging adaptable strategies. Navigational tools help players revisit routes efficiently as they prepare for new tasks.
